We're subletting our cozy 3-bedroom apartment in Crown Heights for January while we're traveling! It's steps from the 2/5 trains, and a few minutes away from the 3/4 trains. It's a 3 bedroom technically, but only two are used as bedrooms. The front room has a twin bed and a desk (the bed pulls out into a larger size if needed), the second bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the back bedroom is used as a yoga room/study.

There's a spacious living room with a smart tv, and an additional smart tv in the front bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you might need, and we encourage you to feel right at home!

Our building is small and pre-war and filled with friendly and helpful neighbors. There's radiator heating, and the apartment is always kept at a warm temperature! We're on the first floor but the building has 5 steps to enter it, so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

We're looking for someone responsible to be in our space while we're away - we would like to find someone who can take care of the plants and check in on the cat colony outside while we're gone. (Thorough instructions will be left)

You'll notice a cat in the pictures - he will NOT be there while we're away! We're taking him to live with family, but the apartment may not be suitable with someone with severe cat allergies. We'll be doing a good clean before we leave, but there might be residual danger/allergens if you're sensitive.

My name is Emily! I'm a writer living here in Brooklyn. I've been in my apartment for 9 years, so it's very lived in, warm, and inviting. My apartment is like my little sanctuary, and I hope that you feel the same once you're in it! I like to keep things tidy, and have good and friendly relationships with all my neighbors. I'm also a part-time herbalist, so you'll see lots of plants and dried herbs around the space. (You're welcome to ask me anything about them or make yourself an herbal tea with them!)

Rental requirements

We'd like to have a video call to get to know each other before any agreement, and we have a simple sublease agreement for you to sign. We ask for a $500 deposit that will be returned the day after you move out!

Pets Policy

We'd be open to a cat or dog as long as they're well behaved and don't scratch furniture.
