Our home is a lovingly restored, fully furnished 3-bedroom, 1-bath, 100-year-old foursquare kit house in Beacon, New York, two blocks from Main Street and a 10-minute walk or bike ride to the Metro-North train to NYC. It’s ideal for a small family, artist-in-residence, or remote-working couple looking for a peaceful base in the Hudson Valley for a few months.

The house combines vintage character and modern comfort, with original wood floors, a working fireplace, Wi-Fi, and plenty of light. The main floor includes a welcoming living area, dining space, and a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are two queen bedrooms and a cozy kids’ room with twin bunk beds.

There’s no TV, but we’ve created a space meant for slow living and inspiration: shelves of books, a piano, board games, and a sunny “sleeping porch” that doubles as a creative studio or home office, with wrap-around windows and a dedicated desk.

The backyard is private and lush, featuring fruiting trees, a fire pit, and outdoor dining under a pergola — a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening gatherings. The front porch offers views of Mt. Beacon and a pair of rocking chairs for sunset watching.

Families will find everything they need: a high chair, pack’n’play, toys, and a swing set. A washer and dryer are available in the basement.

The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and family-friendly, close to Beacon’s best cafes, galleries, and the Sunday Farmers’ Market. Grocery stores, playgrounds, and the riverfront are within easy walking distance.

Please note that our home is not wheelchair accessible — there are several steps at the entrances, and all bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs.

We’re seeking respectful, community-minded guests for stays of one to three months (or longer) who will appreciate the warmth and creative spirit of our home.
