About This Lister

Jordana Maisie is an architect, designer, and the founder of JMDS, a multidisciplinary design studio, and JMDW, an experimentation and fabrication workshop, based in Los Angeles.

The value of presence in physical space, as opposed to mediation through screens, is crucial to her work. A residency in Australia, her country of origin, culminated in a large-scale public installation, paving the path to studies in architecture, furniture, and lighting design. After completing graduate school, Jordana brought her unique approach to Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s renowned studio in New York.

Jordana holds a Master of Architecture, and an MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design; a BFA in photography from the Glasgow School of Art; and a MFA in Video Production & Sound Engineering from the College of Fine Arts in Sydney. She is currently an adjunct professor at USC's School of Architecture in Los Angeles, and a recipient of the Art & Australia/Credit Suisse Private Banking Contemporary Art Award.
