LOCATION: Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn (ideal: within walking distance of Halsey & Malcolm X)
TYPE: Wanted / Studio or Practice Space
MOVE-IN: Flexible, available now
RENT RANGE: Open — let's talk
DESCRIPTION:
I'm a drummer looking for a small, quiet space I can rent and call my own in Stuyvesant Heights or the nearby blocks of Bed-Stuy. A basement, garage, shed, back room, or unused corner of a larger studio all work. Even a closet-sized space is fine (50 square feet or so would do) — I just need somewhere I can set up a kit and practice on my own schedule, and leave my gear there without anyone messing with it.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
- Small footprint — enough for a drum kit and me
- Walkable from Halsey & Malcolm X, ideally 10 minutes or less
- 24/7 access with my own key
- Some level of sound isolation, or a setting where drums won't be a problem (industrial building, detached structure, accommodating neighbors)
- Electricity for lights, heat/fan/AC
- Safely store my drumset undisturbed
WHAT I BRING:
- Quiet, considerate practice habits — daytime and early evening only
- Willing to soundproof at my own expense
- References from past landlords and collaborators
- Background check, deposit, ID — whatever helps
Looking for month-to-month or longer; happy to commit if the space is right
If you're a homeowner with an unused basement or garage, an artist with extra room in a studio, or you're subletting part of a lockout, I'd love to hear from you. Even a tip toward someone who might have space would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading!

I'm Freddie — a writer by trade and a drummer by long habit.
I work from home in Bed-Stuy ghostwriting for founders and CEOs, and outside of that I'm usually behind a kit, walking the neighborhood, or trying to convince myself to get a library card instead of buying more books.
I'm quiet, organized, and good at keeping a space the way I found it. I've rented from enough people to know how much that matters—and I've subletted my apartment enough times to know how much a bad tenant hurts.
