I am looking for a furnished room to rent or sublet in NYC for May and June (and late April if possible). My budget is $950-$1200/month.
I am a doctoral student at Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, France, studying art history. The artist I am studying has a foundation in Long Island City, where I need to conduct research for a few months. The room thus needs to be one hour away tops from the 33 St - Rawson St stop (line 7). I have lived in New York before and enjoyed it, but finding a place to stay seems even more difficult now than three years ago ...
I will be working a lot, so I'll be a fairly quiet roommate. I'm good with cats if you have one, and I never leave the dishes in the sink, although I do cook a lot. I am a queer woman and thus look for a queer-friendly apartment.
All I need is a furnished room, not too expensive and not too far away from the Nancy Graves Foundation: beyond that, the size of the room or the district the apartment is in matters little to me. Please reach out if you have a room to rent/sublet that corresponds to this!
I am a 25-year-old French doctoral student in art history (she/her). I mainly correspond to the stereotypes you may associate with that: I spend a lot of time in museums, I love reading, I am queer, and I love cats. My stay in New York will be fairly studious, but I do enjoy going out too.
I have spent the first year of my Master's in New York in 2022-2023, so I am quite familiar with the city and have been back once a year since then for work. I am currently in my first year as a doctoral student, which means I need to browse through a lot of archival material, conduct interviews, and travel to see artworks in person. I'll be away for at least 2 weeks during these 2+ months for research.
