Seeking a considerate & kind human to share my sunny, plant-filled Sunset Park apartment. I’m looking for a short-term housemate (1-3 months) with the possibility of extending longer if it’s a good fit. Available immediately.

The Apartment
The unit is steps from the Sunset Park park/pool/rec center, well maintained, two floors up (no elevator), with IN-UNIT laundry, big windows, well-equipped kitchen, spacious common area, hardwood floors, adorable balcony and a bajillion houseplants. It's a 4-unit building. The landlord lives downstairs and is the best I’ve encountered in NYC. There are 2 large bedrooms (yours and mine) and a small office.

Your Bedroom
Your bedroom is 15’ x 9’ with a standard closet (20” x 5’) and large south-facing window (56”x56”) with custom honey-comb shades. It gets amazing afternoon light and is furnished with a queen-size bed with Purple Hydbrid mattress, dresser, side table and chair. There is space in the room for a desk or bike if you wanted to bring one, or want to borrow my large artists’ easel while you’re here.

Your Bathroom
The apartment has 2 full bathrooms. Your bathroom is large and clean, with a tub. You’d have access to a 2nd bathroom, and occasional guests would use both. So, your bathroom is private most of the time.

Transit
Subway: 0.4 miles (8 min walk) to D train at 9th Ave; 0.8 miles (15 min walk) to D/R/N trains at 36th; 0.6 miles (13 min walk) to R train at 45th.
Buses: B35 right around the corner; B63 2 blocks away
Ferry is a 10-min bike ride away and takes you to Wall St or the Rockaways beaches in one stop.
Citibike docks on the block make getting to subway or ferry a breeze.

Neighborhood
Sunset Park is AMAZING. Great views, a pool and rec center (set to re-open in October), delicious food and weekly farmers market, and pay-what-you-wish weekend park yoga, are less than a block from the apartment.

About This Lister

My partner and I are dykes in our early 40s. One of us is usually working from home in the office. We’ve worked hard to create a space that’s organized, relaxing and welcoming.

I look for independent, adult housemates. Our friends are welcoming and used to meeting new people in this space, so this can be a good option for someone new or returning to NYC, newly single, etc.

We're respectful, communicative, vaxxed, friendly and tidy, and you should be too. To me, tidy means shoes off at the door, dishes done immediately, and personal items tidied out of the common spaces before we leave or go to bed.
