H! I'm Niamh and I'm renting the two other rooms in my gorgeous pre-war 3 bedroom apartment. One room is huge at 12' x 16' and is completely furnished and decorated, with a queen sized bed, full sized couch, desk, flat screen tv etc, and the other is massive at 18' x 11' and is unfurnished, with room for any sized bed, and nearly any other furniture you might have. Both rooms are perennially sun-filled, and have 9' high ceilings, hardwood floors and picture frame molding for a really expansive and luxurious feel. Each room comes with a hall closet, kitchen and bathroom are shared.

The Broadyke Apartments is a beautifully maintained historic building with an elevator, laundry room on site, full time staff, and an entrance through a lovely private courtyard filled with flowers, birdsong and the friendliest of neighbors.

The A express train stop is about 10 feet from the building entrance and will get you to midtown in about 25 minutes. The 1 also stops a couple of blocks away, and the M1 stops across the street.

If you don't know Inwood, it's the best kept secret in New York. Beautiful tree lined streets full of art deco architecture, families on their way to the playgrounds and community gardens, Fort Tryon Park is right across the street, with the Met Cloisters inside, where the Met's medieval collection is housed in an abbey like setting. Also across the street is a 24 hour fancy grocery store and the newest library in the city. Within a couple of blocks is Inwood Hill Park - the only place in Manhattan where you can hike through ancient forests, the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum where you can learn about the early inhabitants of the area, and a marina where you can sit on the dock and watch the Hudson. Nowhere else in the city will you find the combination of convenience, amenities, proximity to transportation, beauty, art and nature. All while 20 minutes to Columbia or the UWS, 25 to midtown and 35 to the West Village. Forgive my proselytizing, I just moved here in the fall and I absolutely love it.

About This Lister

You'll be sharing the apartment with:

1. Me, Niamh (rhymes with Steve) - a friendly introverted native New Yorker in her 30s, who spends most of her time either out enjoying the neighborhood, quietly in my room, or engrossed in a book via noise cancelling earphones, but is always prepared to share pictures of the cute animals I've seen in the parks lately.

2. My absurdly friendly German Shepherd Lila. If you want a dog friend without any of the responsibility, boy are you in luck. If you play with her one time, she will show you true devotion. However if you're allergic or afraid of dogs, I'm afraid you won't be happy here, she does bark occasionally at outside noises and it's a big dog bark. No other pets unfortunately.

3. Whoever takes the other room! I'll be looking for the same things in both roommates so I can say with confidence that they will be someone quiet, tidy, conscientious and friendly.

Rental requirements

I am looking for women and/or queer roommates, who are either vegan/vegetarian or just willing to forgo cooking or reheating meat, fish and eggs in the apartment. Dairy, baked goods, and like, a takeout cobb salad in the fridge are fine.

I just ask for a $600 refundable deposit against damages and the first month's rent to move in. Rental terms are flexible, as long as you give me 60 days notice before you leave. All utilities including WiFi are shared, they have averaged about $60/month so far, but I do expect the electric to go up in the summer months. When responding, tell me a little about yourself and include a social media, employer profile or any other online presence.
