Enjoy a spacious bedroom with a private bath for approx. 2-3 weeks (dates flexible) while I'm out of town. The room is furnished with a bed, dresser, and desk as shown in the photos. It has beautiful wood floors, a large closet and a ceiling fan and gets great natural light. Next to the bedroom is a private bathroom that you'll have to yourself.

The bedroom overlooks our backyard and is on the 2nd floor of a 3-bedroom/2-bathroom duplex apartment that I share with my two housemates. The first floor of the apartment has a shared living room, kitchen and dining area. You are welcome to help yourself to the grains, legumes, spices and other food items in our well-stocked cabinets and shelves. There is a bike and helmet available for your use if you desire.

The apartment is on the upper floors of a two-unit townhouse; we share the backyard with our friendly neighbors downstairs. It's located just a block away from Herbert Von King park and steps away from Tompkins Avenue, which has lots of great local shops and restaurants.

Our home environment is warm, friendly, restorative and peaceful. We keep our space clean and tidy (minimal clutter, no dishes in the sink, etc) and ask that you do the same. We are a queer & trans household – being LGBTQ-affirming is a must. We are mostly vegetarian and do not cook meat in the house although non-veg take-out is fine. Please note that we have a cat and cannot accommodate any other pets.

I am a trans/non-binary & queer urban planner and native New Yorker in my early 30s who enjoys gardening, writing, fermentation, herbalism, and vegetarian cooking outside of my day job. My two housemates K (she/they) and L (he/him) — who you'll share the apartment with — are in their late 20s/early 30s. K is a Black trans femme dancer and artist and L is a white trans masc socialist organizer and nurse. We are an anti-racist household. We do our best to respect each other's boundaries and we greatly appreciate emotional awareness and direct communication.
