This light-filled 3BR/1BA occupies the entire ground floor of a 1865 Mansard Victorian in quiet, residential South Nyack.
The apartment has 11-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and original details throughout. The extra-large living room has a wood-burning fireplace and a dining or office alcove with soaring 8-foot leaded glass windows. The kitchen is optimized for cooking, with tons of cabinet and counter space, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, and double farmhouse sink, along with a second (decorative) fireplace. The bathroom has built-in storage and an inviting cast iron soaking tub.
All three bedrooms fit actual furniture – king in the primary, queen in the second, full in the third. There's also a private porch off the apartment.
It's just short walk into town, two blocks to NYC bus / HudsonLink to Tarrytown, and a 20-minute drive to the George Washington Bridge. We're also close to the Hudson River, several hiking trails, and Hook Mountain State Park.
Nyack is home to artists, actors, writers and musicians, along with outdoor enthusiasts. Known for its vibrant street fairs, farmer's market, famous Halloween parade, and diverse shops, it's a historic small town that's close to the city but has a unique identity all of its own.
My husband and I moved to Nyack from the city after we had kids and outgrew our West Village apartment. I like to say we renovated this building with blood, sweat, and tears – and a few tetanus shots. We live in the caretaker's cottage behind the main house, so we're close by if something breaks (old houses have opinions) but completely respect your privacy. We genuinely want you to love living here!
One-year lease. First month's rent + one month security – $7200 total – due at signing. No broker's fee. Rent includes heat, hot water and cooking gas, tenant has own electric meter and pays for usage.
Pets considered on a case-by-case basis. (We love animals, but we've learned the hard way sometimes it doesn't work out.)
