I’m looking for a housemate to share my sunlit West Philadelphia home — available either for a long-term lease (1 year) or a flexible, part-time arrangement (ideal for someone who commutes into the city a few days a week for work or teaching). Ideally starting September 1st (or the first week of September) but open to sometime later in the fall as well.
🏠 The Home:
You’d have your own private bedroom and full bathroom on the second floor in a recently renovated 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home. The house has great natural light, a modern kitchen, open living/dining areas, a finished basement with laundry, a small backyard, and a rooftop deck perfect for relaxing, moon-gazing, or getting some fresh air.
🐕 About Me:
I’m a sociology professor who teaches at a university in Doylestown and commutes there about two days a week during the semester. Otherwise, I mostly work from home. I’m mostly plant-based/vegan, love to cook and stay active, and live with Korra, my fairly chill and friendly Shiba Inu.
I value a clean, peaceful, and intentional living environment and am looking for someone who is tidy, shares progressive/leftist values, and is ideally open to occasional shared meals or conversation. But if you prefer to keep things low-key and private, that’s fine too.
🌿 You Might Be:
Looking for a full-time, year-long rental, OR
A part-time commuter who needs a place to stay in Philly 2–3 nights a week
Someone who values living in a respectful home environment
LGBTQ+ friendly
Comfortable with dogs
Someone who values a sense of home and keeping it tidy and clean
Someone with progressive values
💰 Rent & Utilities:
$1,100/month for a full-time tenant
Includes all utilities: gas, electric, water, & internet/WiFi
Also includes a monthly professional cleaning service (happy to drop this if it’s not desired and lower rent accordingly)
For part-time arrangements, I’m open to discussing flexible pricing based on your schedule and needs.
📍 Location:
The house is on a quiet block in West Philadelphia, walkable to public transit and bike-friendly. Easy access to University City, Penn, Drexel, and Center City.

1st and last month rent, security deposit.
The ideal move-in time is for October 1st, but I'm flexible with it being a few weeks earlier if that works better for you. I will be meeting folks who are interested on a first come, first serve basis.
Must be okay with chill dogs.
Allow up to 5 days for response.
