Purpose:
Support the relocation of a 76-year-old senior from the Bronx to affordable housing in Kingston, NY
(or within 25 minutes driving distance). Manage housing applications, track progress, and coordinate Section 8 voucher transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach to affordable housing providers (Ulster County, Kingston).
- Submit housing applications on behalf of client.
- Track application status, waitlists, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with NYCHA and Ulster County Housing Authority on Section 8 voucher transfer.
- Liaise with landlords to confirm voucher acceptance.
- Provide weekly progress updates (status tracker, notes, deadlines).
Qualifications:
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of affordable housing and Section 8 programs.
- Excellent communication & organization.
- Strategic, independent, and resourceful.
- Comfortable making phone calls and managing paperwork.

Compensation:
- $200/month for 10 hours of work per month
You’ll be working directly with me, Ariane Hunter, a marketing consultant and author based in the Hudson Valley. This project is personal—I’m relocating my 76-year-old father from the Bronx to be closer to me. I need someone independent and organized to manage this housing search and voucher transfer alongside me. You won’t be part of a big team or office; instead, you’ll work remotely, setting your own hours with weekly check-ins. The role requires persistence, excellent communication, and respect for working with seniors and housing providers. I value clarity, reliability, communication and a sense of mission—this work is about securing a safe, stable home for my dad and bringing peace of mind to our family.
