We are looking for a fabricator comfortable in a position that involves operating a variety of equipment to fabricate pieces for the studio. You will join the team in assisting with the fabrication of a number of upcoming projects. Projects are varied and can take anywhere from weeks to months to complete depending on the size of the project. The ideal candidates will be able to work independently once briefed on a project, while also being able to identify potential issues and notify the rest of the team as they arise.
The ability to navigate a shop environment, helping with general upkeep as needed and open communication are required. You may be asked to travel for on-site installations, which can last anywhere from 1-3 weeks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Quality control on units for projects
- Inventory checks for unit deliveries
- Prepping hardware for installations
- Labeling and packing parts of installations for shipping
- Working with a spray booth to produce a final finish on units
- Assembling projects per drawing details and specifications
- Operating a heat cut for acrylic bending
- Updating spreadsheets as projects progress
- Learning and being able to proficiently navigate software used by the office
- General office upkeep
- Joining the install team to assemble pieces on site
Desired Skills and Experience (At least half):
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Rhino 3D 7/8 Proficiency
- Experience using Google Drive Suite
-Ability to stay organized and maintain a schedule
-Experience packing orders for shipment
-Previous shop experience whether professionally or through a school’s shop
- Ability to work independently
- Scissor lift certification or willingness to earn certification
We are currently looking for interest in work that will range in timeframe between February-July of this year in both full-time and part-time capacities.
