There are ample business hours available for a new tenant to have full access to the space. The schedules of the other tenants allows for flexibility in determining hours of use. Each tenant will have sole access to the space during their scheduled weekly hours.
The building is accessible by key fob, a call system, and/or an entry code. There is a large, beautiful entrance room where clients may wait for sessions, as well as a seating area directly outside the office door. The office is accessible by stairs as well as elevator.
Additionally, the building includes a tranquil garden area to enjoy during breaks, utilize for sessions based on client’s comfort, and even engage clients in occasional horticultural therapy.
It is hoped to continue to mold the office to best fit the needs of practicing therapists, and so reasonable requests about re-structuring, decorating, or adapting the space are welcomed!
The Old American Can Factory primarily houses office space for artists, makers, and manufacturers of many kinds. The current psychotherapist (who incorporates art, movement, and nature into forms of talk therapy) has found this office and building to be generative and harmonious for their practice and for their clients. It can be used specifically or quite expansively based on the needs of the practitioner and their clients.
Office values include generosity, flexibility, and respect. Navigating the needs and experiences inherent in space sharing seems most effective when guided by these principles.
The primary lease holder and landlord have always been generous and supportive of the subtenants and genuinely value the work done by mental health providers. Their office and the building maintenance staff are responsive and kind.
Lastly, there are regular performance and community events held in the building which tenants are invited to attend with their loved ones.
Psychotherapists/mental health practitioners are strongly encouraged to inquire, as well as other kinds of healing/helping practitioners (eg., art therapists, reiki, yoga, naturopathic medicine, psychiatry, etc),
Rent and utilities: The rent portion is 1900. Utilities (wifi, heat, electricity) are split evenly and it is typically quite affordable.

I’m Gracie (she/her), and I’m a clinical psychologist, providing integrative psychotherapy to New Yorkers. I myself am queer and specialize in provision of trauma-informed, affirmative, and humble psychological services to historically marginalized groups including queer, trans, and BIPOC clients. In addition to talk therapy I incorporate art, movement, and nature into treatment as needed.
I am a sub tenant to the space, but am primarily taking the lead on finding a new tenant as we are searching for tenants in a similar area of work to mine. I will be showing interested tenants the space. Our landlord is onsite and he as well as the primary lease holder are available to answer questions/provide guidance and assistance as needed during this process.
