My wife, our pup, and I are subletting our spacious, cozy, and colorful 1-bedroom apartment (with great storage) in Prospect Lefferts Gardens for 7 months while we’re away. It’s on Beekman Place, just off Flatbush and across from the PLG Historic District — only a 5-minute walk to the Q, B, and S trains at Prospect Park Station, and to Prospect Park itself.
The apartment includes:
• Two large rooms — one furnished as a TV/work space (with couch, desk, and shelves) and the other as our sleeping room (with bed, table, and nightstand)
• A kitchen with full-size appliances (fridge, stove, sink) and plenty of storage
• Radiator heat with thermostat control (recently upgraded)
• Hardwood floors throughout
• A rent-stabilized building with 5–6 floors, about 5–6 units per floor, and a responsive super (not on site)
• Ground floor location, with just a couple of steps up from the lobby to the unit
• Fully furnished as-is
The neighborhood is walkable, diverse, and creative, with a strong community of dog lovers thanks to Prospect Park being right nearby. Across the street, the PLG Historic District offers eight blocks of tree-lined streets, beautiful architecture, and garden-filled front yards — perfect for walks. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is also just an 8-minute walk away, making this an especially great home for anyone who loves plants and nature.
Within 5–10 minutes of the front door, you’ll find coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and groceries. Highlights include PLG Café (our favorite coffee/sandwich spot), Lincoln Market for groceries, and a great Mexican restaurant next door to Lincoln Market. Laundry is also just around the corner.
If interested, please reach out with a bit about yourself and your plans for the sublet period. Photos and floor plan available upon request.
We’re a couple (he/him, she/her) living here with our sweet pup. I’m a digital product designer, and my wife is a program director at a nonprofit. We both have backgrounds in the arts (she studied dramaturgy, I studied art, design, and architecture), so we’re big fans of plays, museums, and movies & TV shows. We also love being close to nature — Prospect Park and the Botanic Garden are a huge part of why we enjoy this neighborhood.
We’ve been tenants here since July 2020 and have a good, respectful relationship with our landlord, super, and neighbors. We’ll be temporarily relocating to Maine (where my wife’s family is based) and are looking for someone to enjoy our space while we’re away.
We’re posting and fielding responses directly, and we’re happy to show the apartment in person before we leave, or virtually via video call.
