My name is Mark Michener. I have owned 257 12th Street for 40 years. We have worked very hard over that time to ensure this 127-year-old building looks as beautiful as it can and is also an extremely comfortable place to live. We do that by making sure that everything in the house works as it should and that it is also aesthetically beautiful. We also work hard to ensure that housemates share an interest in keeping the space beautiful and comfortable. I am an extremely responsive landlord. If something needs to be addressed (and after 40 years, there is nothing currently on the TO DO list), I take care of it immediately. If nothing needs attention, you will never hear from me.
There are pictures of 4 areas of the house. The first is the front of the building. The room available is the front room with windows next to the large front doors. Next set of pictures are the common space that all housemates use - kitchen, dining and "hang out" space. The next two are the backyard. And the final pictures are of the available room.
The housemates describe their ideal housemate as follows:
"Our ideal housemate would be clean, take initiative around the house (taking out trash etc.), be respectful of the other roommates and boundaries, have good communication skills, be friendly although not looking for roommates to be friends with (if it happens naturally that is great). Overall, we hope to find someone who is willing to contribute to keeping the wonderful and peaceful vibe we have going right now.
Recently we’ve put a lot of effort into refreshing the living space with new furniture and art and Mark has kindly updated a lot of the kitchen appliances. Rosa - our delightful cleaning lady comes every two weeks. We’re mainly looking for someone who is easy-going, independent and respectful of the rest of the housemates."
