I’m looking for a short-term subletter from July 21st to August 15th, but I’m open to slightly shorter or longer stays. I’ll be traveling and hope someone can enjoy peak NYC summer while I’m away!
The bedroom is large, bright, and fully furnished. I previously had a desk in it which can be brought back in. There’s plenty of closet space, a beautiful bay window, and high ceilings that make the room feel extra open.
You’ll be joining a warm, inclusive household of five wonderful friends. Everyone is kind, thoughtful, and respectful of each other and the shared spaces. The apartment has two living rooms, a basement, a washing machine, and a backyard. Despite living with others, it’s common to have plenty of quiet time to yourself.
My room is tucked away from the main common areas on the second floor, and stays very quiet. On weekdays, we try to wind down in common spaces around 10pm. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the big fridge is shared—everyone labels personal items, which keeps things smooth.
We’re two blocks from Herbert Von King Park, five minutes from the G train and multiple bus lines, and surrounded by great restaurants, bars, and neighborhood spots.
You’d be living with five lovely people—many are Queer, femme, and BIPOC—and we’re open to anyone who can share space respectfully and join our community with care. Everyone here is committed to building a more equitable world rooted in racial, economic, and social justice.
We’re hoping to find someone who balances connection and privacy, is mature, self-aware, clean, and communicates openly. Bonus points if you’re Queer, a person of color, creative, or someone who brings inspiration and hope. If you hold racist, queerphobic, or otherwise harmful views, please look elsewhere.
My name is Kena. I’m a Queer, mixed Black man who’s called Brooklyn home for about four years. I’m an artist, athlete, and writer working at a non-profit.
I’ve loved living here and I’m excited to welcome someone who’ll love it too. Please reach out if you have any questions!
