We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized Logistics Assistant and Housekeeper to join our NYC showroom team. This role is essential in maintaining smooth daily operations, supporting both the Logistics Manager and the wider team, and ensuring the showroom floor is always in perfect order. The ideal candidate is reliable, hands-on, and thrives in a structured but fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Showroom Organization & Housekeeping
o Ensure the showroom and back-of-house areas are kept tidy and organized at all times
o Take responsibility for basic housekeeping tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning powder rooms, wiping door handles and surfaces, outdoor sweeping and leaf-blowing, watering plants, and general tidying as needed
o Maintain a clean and welcoming client environment per approved styling guides
o Keep the staff pantry stocked and organized
Sample Management
o Maintain accurate inventory of wallpaper, fabric, and porcelain samples
o Perform regular stock checks and inventory audits
o Replenish sample stock and flag low inventory levels
o Prepare client materials including goodie bags and restock samples upon return
Shipping & Receiving
o Handle incoming and outgoing shipments
o Unpack, log, and organize received items
o Coordinate with courier services and de Gournay’s UK warehouse as needed
o Occasional errands outside the showroom including drop-offs and pick-ups
Client Visit & Event Preparation
o Assist with setting up for client visits and small events
o Prepare refreshments, including making coffee or purchasing snacks and food
o Support occasional in-showroom events with setup and clean-up
Administrative Support
o Support the Logistics Manager with operational and clerical tasks
o Assist with internal communication and coordination across departments
Key Qualifications:
• Administrative or operations experience, preferably in a design, retail, or logistics environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with inventory systems and basic shipping platforms
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
