I love living in my rent-stabilized Prospect Heights, two bedroom 850 sq. ft. apartment, that I’ve lived in for the past 26 years. It gets lots of light, is situated right near Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. It’s close to my job as a public school Pre-K teacher (I’ve been teaching for 25 years) in Carroll Gardens which I usually bike or walk to, and the apartment is within the cart walking zone of the Park Slope Food Coop (which I’ve been a member of for 26 years), and there’s lots of public transportation options here (I have a car but do not often use it). Unfortunately, due to changes in life circumstances, I am moving out. It would be great to find a new space that would offer similar comforts. I am an ideal tenant as I never been late or missed a rent payment and I help my neighbors regularly by bringing their packages to them, and I’m quiet and neat. I take pride in taking good care of my space. Things I long for in my current apartment are an elevator (it’s a five story walk up), a washer dryer in the building, bike storage, and a door person. It would be great to find a place with those features. My salary is good and my credit score is over 800. I would love to remain in Prospect Heights or the surrounding neighborhoods. I will be living alone. Would someday love to have a pet but not in the near future (my dog passed away). My price range is between $2,000 and 2,500.
I am a native Brooklyner. I have taught for the NYC Department of Education for the last 25 years. I love biking, birding, cooking, yoga, meditation, hiking, animals (I volunteered at a farm with livestock in Maine over the summer), playing sports, reading, and I write stories, poetry, and songs.
I set my home to be warm and cozy. With soft warm lighting and comfortable furniture.
