Hi all! My name is Lainey and I'm opening a bookstore in Harding, NJ (a tiny village outside of Morristown) and looking for a partner who is interested in running a cafe located within the bookstore.

My dream partner is someone with a strong background in food & beverage, who is positive, energetic, and excited by the prospect of working closely and collaboratively with my business.

I'm open to the various forms this partnership could take (i.e. salary; equity; simply renting the space/operating as a standalone business), just looking for someone who's the right fit!

About Us

The future bookstore is called Bernard & Battiston Booksellers, and is located in Harding, NJ. The cafe space is located within the bookstore, and is about 1,000 sq ft according to the most recent plans.

I intend for Bernard & Battiston to be a gathering place for those who love books and the ideas they foster. The bookstore will offer a thoughtfully curated selection of titles across fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, and local literature. In addition to selling books, Bernard & Battiston will host events and other programming including (but not limited to!): author talks, book clubs, story times for kids, workshops, lectures, and community skill shares. As someone who believes in the quiet power of literature to augment empathy, kindle connections, and build community, I'm excited for Bernard & Battiston to sustain thoughtful engagement and lifelong learning through intentional curation, inclusive programming, and a welcoming space.

The cafe contained within Bernard & Battiston should reflect these values and intentions, and I hope to find the perfect partner to help me realize this vision!
