Hi! I'm 39, single, F, and my pets and I are looking for a place to live come April 1. I've been living with my non-paying roommates (50-lb black lab and 9-lb orange cat) in Greenpoint -- in a 500-sq-ft, 2 bedroom, first floor space with a yard and laundry in building and a dishwasher -- for the past almost-4 years, and we're expecting a rent increase to price us out come end of our lease. Despite working a corporate job in finance and side-gigging as a yoga instructor, I'm afraid I'll be digging deeper than my pockets allow by staying in my current digs. Very open to living with roommates who are cool with the furries, and though very much have affinity for first (but not split/subterranean level) floor living, and an affinity toward a yard (for the pets), also very flexible to whatever amenities may present as opportunities. Teaching yoga means I often have the need to do laundry, so preference toward having facilities in the space or building, but also open to learning what it's like to have your "laundry sent out." Open to other neighborhoods but would love to stay in Brooklyn, and would love parks to be part of me and my dog's day to day (walking distance to Prospect Park would be dreamy).
I (she/her) work in finance, in-office three days, from home three, and moonlight as a yoga instructor. I have a bachelor's and master's degree, yoga and tone and sculpt fitness class instruction certifications, and am from Chicago, though have lived abroad for five years prior to moving to New York. Native English speaker but speak Spanish and Portuguese fluently, some French.
