Due to late cancellation MERZ is able to offer a self-catering artist/writer residency in the Bothy micro-house with an exhibition in the MERZ gallery and film interview with Summerhall TV (if required).
Fee for February and March reduced to $800.00 per month.

Located in the former lemonade factory in Sanquhar, South West Scotland, MERZ is the project of artist and filmmaker David Rushton. MERZ has developed once derelict and neglected sites into accessible art spaces including residencies, studios and the MERZ gallery and Museum of Model Art. Sanquhar is on the train line to Glasgow and southwards via Carlisle to London. 0.5 miles from station in quiet town with range of shops, pubs and cafes. Good walking country from the residency buildings. Bothy has fridge with freezer and washing machine. Bedding and towels provided.
Artist and filmmaker David Rushton began converting MERZ in 2009 and introduced artist. writer and architect residencies in 2018. Since 2018 MERZ has hosted over 100 residents many of whom have exhibited in the gallery or museum. The Bothy is one of three spaces with artists working on projects throughout the year. The Bothy is self-contained on the MERZ gallery site.
