H! I'm Niamh and I'm renting one of the bedrooms in my gorgeous pre-war 3 bedroom apartment. The room is huge at 18' x 11' and is partially furnished with a queen sized bed and brand new mattress, a small couch, chifferobe, and plenty of room for any other furniture you might have or want to add. The first two photos are of the room when it had less furniture and the following two pictures are to show the very similar couch and chifferobe that are in the smaller bedroom in the apartment.
The entire apartment is perennially sun-filled and has 9' high ceilings, hardwood floors and picture frame molding for a really expansive and luxurious feel. Each room comes with a hall closet, kitchen and bathroom are shared.
The Broadyke Apartments is a beautifully maintained historic building with an elevator, laundry room on site, full time staff, and an entrance through a lovely private courtyard filled with flowers, birdsong and the friendliest of neighbors.
The A express train stop is about 10 feet from the building entrance and will get you to midtown in about 25 minutes. The 1 also stops a couple of blocks away, and the M1 stops across the street.
If you don't know Inwood, it's the best kept secret in New York. Beautiful tree lined streets full of art deco architecture, families on their way to the playgrounds and community gardens, Fort Tryon Park is right across the street, with the Met Cloisters inside, where the Met's medieval collection is housed in an abbey like setting. Also across the street is a 24 hour fancy grocery store and the newest library in the city. Within a couple of blocks is Inwood Hill Park - the only place in Manhattan where you can hike through ancient forests, the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum where you can learn about the early inhabitants of the area, and a marina where you can sit on the dock and watch the Hudson. Nowhere else in the city will you find the combination of convenience, amenities, proximity to transportation, beauty, art and nature. All while 20 minutes to Columbia or the UWS, 25 to midtown and 35 to the West Village. Forgive my proselytizing, I just moved here in the fall and I absolutely love it.
You'll be sharing the apartment with:
1. Me, Niamh (rhymes with Steve) - a friendly introverted native New Yorker in her 30s, who spends most of her time either out enjoying the neighborhood, quietly in my room, or engrossed in a book via noise cancelling earphones, but is always prepared to share pictures of the cute animals I've seen in the parks lately. I have a circadian rhythm disorder that means I'm up at all hours, so deep sleepers will be the best fit here.
2. My absurdly friendly German Shepherd Lila. If you want a dog friend without any of the responsibility, boy are you in luck. If you play with her one time, she will show you true devotion. However if you're allergic or afraid of dogs, I'm afraid you won't be happy here, she does bark occasionally at outside noises and it's a big dog bark. No other pets unfortunately.

3. My roommate Natalia, a very lovely Colombian native who works in medical billing in midtown during the day and is very friendly, quiet, clean and conscientious when home.
I am looking for women and/or queer roommates, who are either vegan or just willing to forgo bringing animal products into the apartment. You must work outside of the home during the day, and be willing to contribute to household chores, not just cleaning up after yourself but deep cleaning the bathroom, buying paper products etc. You must also be respectful of noise - no slamming doors, talking on speakerphone in the common areas or walking with shoes in the house (also to keep the floors clean).
First months rent and $1400 refundable deposit to move in. Rental term length is flexible, but must begin and end on the first and last day of the month, and require 30 days notice before either party terminates. All utilities including WiFi are shared, they have averaged between $60 and $90 per month depending on the season and usage. When responding, tell me a little about yourself and include a social media, employer profile or any other online presence.
