Hello, NYC!
After seven years, my roommate is moving out, freeing up a lovely room in my peaceful, creative home in the heart of Cobble Hill, on Court Street. Would you like to move in?!
- The open room faces the back of the apartment and gets west-facing light. It overlooks the backyards of Court and Thompkins Place, w access to a fire escape. The room fits a Queen size bed, desk and dresser, has a built in closet, and two windows. A new bed can await you, if you would like.
It’s on the opposite side of the apartment from my room, making it quiet, and private.
- We will share: A fully-stocked open kitchen/dining room, with plenty of counter space, a large dining table, microwave and gas stove, and a cozy den, with a big old TV, and a comfy couch.
- There’s one bathroom that has just been redone, with a tub/shower.
- No laundry in the building, but there's a laundromat down the block.
- This apartment is on Court Street – a five minute walk from the F/G at Bergen Street. The neighborhood is a complete delight! We have an awesome park 7 minutes away, the Cobble Hill Cinemas across the street, cafes, bookstores, and grocery stores within a block.
- Rent is $1725 per month.
- Utilities (internet, electric, gas) usually run $125 per month – possible a bit higher in the summer (hello A/C).
You’ll be sharing the space with: Myself, Lottie (a magnificent service/therapy dog), and two extraordinarily friendly cat siblings, Zysl and Rebel.
- I am a 40 something, social, yet introverted, psychotherapist/multi-creative/yogi in private practice. I work from home several days a week and at an office three days per week. Because of the nature of my work, home needs to be reasonably quiet as I do sessions. That said, I’m also a musician/singer (not to worry, I keep the sounds in my room and it’s mostly vocals). I have been here for eight years, and know all of the tenants in the building. Everyone is respectful, and again, quiet.
- The apartment is non smoking, and NOT 420 friendly. It is not a party house.
- *****This home is a space for awesome community/friends: Jewish folks, LGBTQ folks, BIPOC folks, etc.
- *****Please LOVE (not tolerate) our furry animal friends. *****
- Please be courteous, communicative, considerate, and trustworthy.
- You are interested in a long term rental – at least 8 months.
- You have references who can attest to your awesomeness.
Hi! I am a creative, deeply kind, warm/funny, community-centered, social yet introverted psychotherapist/drama therapist/musician/yogi. I am a 7 X Virgo (moon in taurus). Pronouns are she/her, Jewish, 40 something, very spiritual. I direct theatre, and sing music from a bunch of different vocal traditions. I am relaxed at home - clean once per week - not a neat freak, not a slob.
My dog, Lottie, (5 yrs) is a "rescue" from Texas. She is in training as a service dog and is currently a therapy dog. She is 40 lbs, gentle as the night is long, and does not bark. She comes with me to work three days per week.
Zysl and Rebel are 6 year old cat siblings from the Brooklyn Cat Cafe. They are extremely affectionate (think, cuddles, and kissing).
- First month and security deposit ($1,725 + $1,725) due upon agreement.
- I am the leaseholder, but the landlord requires you to fill out a document with references.
- Yes! We need references :)
- You MUST be interested in a long term rental, at least a year.
