• Hours: 20+ per week, ongoing
• Schedule: Fridays from 8:30 am; Weekends from 9:30–10:00 am (typical end ~6:00 pm)
• This is a part-time, independent contractor position
About the Role
• Provide daily support to a middle-aged female living with MS (wheelchair user).
• Assist with personal care, mobility, light housekeeping, and companionship.
• Weekend hours may shift with family plans.
• Daily lunch break included, but not always at a fixed time (bringing lunch encouraged).
Key Responsibilities
• Mobility Support: Transfers to/from wheelchair, bed, toilet; ramps, curbs, and stairs.
• Personal Care: Bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Medication & Vitamins: Reminders and schedule tracking.
• Appointments & Errands: Doctor visits, therapy sessions, neighborhood errands.
• Household Tasks: Light housekeeping, groceries, prescription pickups.
• Meal Prep: Simple, healthy meals and snacks.
• Companionship: Social interaction, music, conversation, and light cooking.
• Training provided for safe transfers and equipment.
Qualifications
• Calm, reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Comfortable with transfers, stairs, and long walks.
• Clear, patient communicator (English required).
• Organized and consistent with daily routines.
• College degree preferred, not required.
• Certifications such as CPR/First Aid are a plus.
• Background check and references may be required.

About Us
I am a middle aged woman diagnosed with MS roughly 20 years ago, and use a wheelchair. I am a retired graphic designer of Swiss background, married, with one adult child and have been living in the States for 32 years. I enjoy audio books, visual arts of all mediums, music, fresh air, good food, and making pottery. I am heavily dependent on the care of others, and I am looking for a calm, patient, and reliable person to assist me Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
