I’m a New York–based photographer currently building a focused portfolio in interiors, real estate, and architectural photography, with a particular interest in thoughtfully designed and detail-driven environments.
I’m offering a small number of complimentary shoots for thoughtfully designed spaces. This could include apartments, townhomes, boutique rentals, restaurants, or design-forward commercial spaces.
My background is in luxury hospitality and events, and I’m especially drawn to spaces with strong natural light, texture, and intentional design. I approach photography with a focus on creating clean, elevated images that still feel natural and considered.
What’s included:
– Travel to any of the 5 boroughs via public transit (willing to travel via the Metro North if location is in walking distance from the train station)
– Up to 2 hours on-site
– 10–15 professionally edited images
– Images delivered within 5–7 days via WeTransfer download link
What I’m looking for:
– Well-designed or visually interesting spaces
– Interior designers, homeowners, or hosts who are open to image usage for my portfolio and website
In exchange, you’ll receive a curated set of high-quality images you’re welcome to use for your own marketing, listings, or social. I’m really looking forward to connecting with people who care about their spaces and want them captured thoughtfully. If it feels like a fit, feel free to reach out with a bit about your space and a few photos. I’d love to see what you’ve created!
Looking forward to collaborating,
Sarah Roberts
I’ve been photographing in some form since high school, and it’s always been something I come back to. It started as a creative outlet and, over time, became a way of paying closer attention to light, composition, and the little things that give a place its character.
I’ve always been drawn to interiors and the overall feeling of a room. I love noticing how everything comes together, how light shifts throughout the day, and the quieter details that might otherwise go overlooked. My approach is simple and thoughtful, focused on creating images that feel calm, natural, and easy to connect with.
A big influence on how I see things is William Eggleston. I’ve always been drawn to the way his work finds something interesting in the everyday, without overcomplicating it. That perspective continues to shape how I approach what I shoot.
At this point, photography feels like a natural extension of how I move through the world. I’m excited to collaborate, create something thoughtful, and continue building a body of work that reflects that perspective.
I started freelancing in Arizona during college, photographing restaurant interiors and food while working as a server. That experience gave me a strong foundation in how to capture a place in a way that feels both polished and approachable.
After moving to New York about 11 years ago, I built my career in luxury hospitality, most recently as a Senior Event Sales Manager at The Mark Hotel. I spent years working closely with high-end venues, planners, and clients, which shaped how I think about flow, presentation, and the overall experience of a place.
Throughout that time, I continued to photograph, mostly using instant and 35mm film. Shooting this way helped me slow down, trust my instincts, and stay focused on composition and detail without overthinking.
Now I’m bringing all of that experience into a more focused photography practice, with a perspective that’s shaped by both hospitality and years of shooting.
