Subletting my space in a gorgeous 3-bed + office, 2.5 bath in prime Bed-Stuy from February 1st - 28th, and possibly as late as March 15th.

About the apartment:

I’ve lived here for three years — the place is a gem. A beautiful, 1st-floor unit on a quiet, tree-lined brownstone block. Complete with a spacious, dare I say chef's kitchen, dishwasher, central AC and heating, record player, projector, grand piano, built-in wall vacuum system, and paid laundry in the basement. It's a lovely place to come home to.

Location:

The location is also fantastic — at Putnam and Throop, just one block from all of the bars, restaurants, and shops on Tompkins, and three minutes from two grocery stores. Also within a block: one of Brooklyn's best bookstores, a very friendly plant shop, great coffee, etc.

For transit, we’re a 7-minute walk to the Kingston-Throop C, 12 minutes to the Nostrand A/C, and 20 minutes to the Bedford-Nostrand G.

The room:

Is bright, airy, and tranquil — with a beautiful private bathroom as well as its own entrance. It gets incredible light throughout the day, with three large, west-facing windows, and has several plants that you'll hopefully be comfortable tending to. It comes furnished, and I can make as much closet and drawer space available as is needed.

About the roommates:

You’d be living with two working artists: Yessaï (31M), a pianist and recent transplant by way of France, and Daniel (34M), a poet and, by day, doer of many things in the publishing world. Both are truly lovely people — quite social, but very adult. It'd be great if you are, too.

As both are often working from home, and in Yessaï's case, practicing (not excessively, but certainly some) during the day, and out at night, someone who keeps later hours, and is comfortable or even excited by the faint sound of relatively gorgeous piano playing (to brag on Yessaï's behalf) would be ideal.

Most importantly, the energy here is calm, creative, and friendly. We also keep the place quite clean. Maybe even too clean. Hopefully that’s also your speed.
