Looking for roommates (or a room that already has them) who want to find (or include me in) a quiet, clean, laid-back living space in NYC - preferably somewhere within a 20 minute walk of a subway stop.
I'm a writer and web developer who lives a pretty spartan lifestyle - all I need to be satisfied is a room large enough to fit a twin bed and a desk, a kitchen that I can use twice a week for meal prep, and a reliable Wi-Fi connection (bonus points for in-room ethernet access or roommates cool with me running a cord from the router).
I'm definitely open to a more collegial and social living space where we're friends in addition to roommates, but I'm also fine living with folks who are focused on putting their nose to the grindstone and who don't spend much time socializing in the house. Perks of living with me include free tech support and immediate access to any movie or TV show you could conceivably ever want to watch.
I am a writer and web developer who works for an number of small businesses and non-profits to make ends meet. Off-the-clock, I'm the kind of person who reads Wikipedia for fun and measures the quality of a bar based on how quiet it is. I tend to get along with people who are very passionate about their interests, even if we don't share those interests in particular.
My idea of a good party is four people in a room idly chatting - I love meeting new people, but I generally prefer doing so in small groups and intimate locales over huge parties and bombastic venues. I like to pack light and I don't do much decorating, but I certainly don't mind if you do. In general, if you're a respectful person who's at least got a few hobbies, we'll probably get along pretty well.
