This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor (literally!) of a rare Central Harlem brownstone with a back patio, backyard, and three full floors of space. Located on a quiet, tree-lined street, this is a floor-through triplex with a big, open-concept kitchen, three bedrooms (one full-sized, two king-sized), two full bathrooms, a reading nook / small office space on the middle floor, tons of closets, and an entire basement with a washer & dryer included. The back of the apartment opens onto a private balcony/patio space overlooking your own private backyard. All modern appliances (dishwasher, oven, microwave, etc), and the apartment has central air / HVAC. There are only two other units in the building (second and third floors), and it's a 5-minute walk from the local B/C train at 135th and under 10 minutes from the express A/B/C/D from 125th. Also near tons of great Harlem restaurants including personal favorites Yatenga and Harlem Hops, and has a grocery store just across the street.
Utilities included through the end of the lease term (March 31, 2026), with opportunity to renew the lease with the landlord. Apartment will be mostly unfurnished but we will leave behind a desk, couch, mattress, and potentially other furniture on request.
We are the current tenants of this apartment, and are moving cities for a job opportunity in October. Our lease ends in March 2026 and we'd love to find a subletter to take over until then! We'll be your contacts during this process (you would pay us; we would continue to pay our landlord) aside from a required background & credit check. Once the lease is up at the end of March, we think it's very likely our landlord would be happy to renew directly with the new subletters.
Landlord will require you to fill out an application and undergo a background and credit check. Move-in can be as early as Saturday, October 11. We're available most days to give a tour of the space (virtual on in-person).
Our landlord prefers no pets -- this is negotiable on a case-by-case basis and may require a pet deposit.
