La Familia Project is comprised of youth workers, educators, wellness healers, artists, and organizers who create spaces, programming, and leadership opportunities for youth and young adults of color impacted by structural racism.
We disrupt cycles of violence, physical, and mental trauma by empowering young people and their communities who have experienced a lack of resources, and multitudes of criminalization using our mantra "Healthy body, Healthy mind" which embodies pillars in leadership, physical fitness, radical artistic expression, wellness and mental health services, healing, and restorative justice while also providing these communities with a voice and resources to support the needs of the community. Since our founding as La Familia Boxing Club in 2021 in Brooklyn, NY, we continue to build a world in which young folks of color can reclaim lives of wellness mind, body, and soul and live in a place of authenticity, joy, and creative expression.
We envision a world with young folks of color both gendered and gender expansive to reclaim lives and the space to dream and manifest a personal freedom all their own through collective leadership, creative expression, and mental health and wellness practices and healing.
You can find out more about us if you go to our site or our instagram.
