About natchie
natchie is a New York illustration brand built on storytelling, travel, and human
connection. Every illustration begins as an original pencil sketch inspired by music,
memory, cities, animals, and everyday moments.
Our JFK shop is more than a retail space. It is a small world travelers discover while
passing through New York. Many customers leave with a piece that reminds them of
home, a trip, or someone they love.
We are building a long-term brand and looking for thoughtful people who want to grow
with it.
About The Role
We are looking for someone warm, reliable, observant, and comfortable taking initiative.
You will often work independently and help maintain the shop with care,
professionalism, and consistency throughout your shift.
This role is a mix of customer connection, sales, organization, and day-to-day shop
operations. We can teach systems and product knowledge. What matters most is
finding someone dependable, communicative, and genuinely invested in doing things
well.
You do not need a specific degree or traditional retail background to succeed here.
Some of the strongest people in customer-facing environments come from food service,
hospitality, creative fields, caregiving, travel, or completely different industries
altogether.
We care far more about maturity, consistency, common sense, energy, and how you
treat people than having a perfectly matched resume.
Responsibilities
Customer Experience
• Creating welcoming, genuine interactions with travelers
• Sharing the story behind the artwork and products
• Helping customers find thoughtful gifts and keepsakes
• Supporting daily sales goals through strong customer engagement
Shop Operations
• Opening and closing the shop independently
• Handling cash and credit transactions through Square
• Restocking and organizing inventory
• Maintaining visual presentation and cleanliness
• Following shop procedures and operational systems
Team & Communication
• Communicating clearly and professionally
• Participating in team check-ins and meetings
• Asking questions when unsure and taking feedback well
• Contributing to a respectful and supportive work environment

Airport Requirements
To work at JFK Terminal 8, applicants must:
• Pass the airport badging and security process
• Complete required airport training
• Provide valid identification documents
• Complete a background disclosure form as part of the badging process
Please note that airport approval is required before beginning independent shifts.
