A very pretty, cozy bedroom in a gem of a house in northern Glendale (Emerald Isle neighborhood), bordering on La Cañada Flintridge.

You'll share the space with four very kind and reliable housemates. (One of the housemates is out of town 90% of the time, so you typically only share with three.) Your furnished room is on the first floor, near the kitchen, with a full bathroom very close by. You share this bathroom with one of the housemates -- the one who is typically away. The other three housemates live upstairs (one couple and one single person) and share a bathroom up there. The bedroom is 11.5'x14.5', with ample closet space (three closets!) and other built-in drawers and cabinets. There's also an adorable window seat, and the room gets surprisingly good daytime sunlight for a north-facing window. My digital piano will be staying here, if you like, or I can house it with a friend if you'd rather have the additional space. Your bed is a very comfortable full-size mattress. For now it is just a mattress on the floor, but I can provide a bedframe before you move in.

- Full kitchen with all the kitchen equipment you'll need. And a dishwasher!
- A very spacious first-floor living room with couch, chairs, and a TV
- A first-floor dining room with dining table
- A dreamy backyard, with a turf area as well as a long deck/balcony, overlooking the hills of Glendale. On a clear day you can see all the way to the ocean
- A gorgeous solarium that separates the backyard from the house
- A garage that we use for storage (not parking), with full washer/dryer setup (though the hot water hookup is not currently working for the washer, so we are just using cold water for our laundry)
- No central heating or A/C -- I have a space heater and a box fan that you can use
- The neighborhood is totally charming. Gorgeous, windy roads, tons of luscious oak trees, Emerald Isle park just a few mins drive way, as well as great hiking at Cherry Canyon. Neighbors are quiet and it's very quiet here at night. We're up in the hills in northern Glendale, in the Emerald Isle neighborhood, very close to the intersection of Chevy Chase Dr and Figueroa St. For shopping/errands, you have many options in a 10-15 min radius: northern Glendale, Eagle Rock, Pasadena/Altadena, La Cañada.
- Possibly pet-friendly, depending on your pet and their temperament. The housemates don't have any pets, but are all animal lovers. I normally have a dog here (she'll be away with me), so you shouldn't rent the space if you have dog allergies. Tell me a little about your pet and we can see if it's a good fit.
- The house is typically a little messy, and a few repairs behind. Our landlord is not super accessible, so we do what we can.
- It's a well-loved, happy space. The housemates love to cook, and to watch movies in the living room. We're social with each other, but all very much doing our own thing too. We enjoy hosting friends and gatherings, here and there.
- Rent is $1250/month, utilities included

I'll be away on the east coast, caregiving for a family member. The room is available starting February 1, until May 1, and it's possible I'll end up being away through the middle of May. I'm flexible on the timeframe (shorter could work), so make me an offer.
