Hello! I'm Elizabeth, and I'm starting an M.A. in Curatorial Studies at Bard this fall and looking for a roommate to share a 2-bedroom first-floor apartment in downtown Red Hook, for a one-year lease beginning August 20th (can also totally do a later move-in and pro-rate the first half-month's rent; I'll be living there for two years and planning on renewing, so would love to find someone who could stay on as well if possible).
About the apartment: The apartment is on the first floor of a cute house (there's another 3-BR unit upstairs that is also available) within close walking distance of the Bard Shuttle and the restaurants and shops in Red Hook Village. It's been very recently updated, and has a lovely eat in kitchen, living room, and a private back yard and parking. Rent is $1800 + utilities. I've spoken with the landlord and a recent past tenant, who said the place was great and well-maintained.
Feel free to reach out if you're interested and would like to chat further!
I'm a 36-year-old queer femme writer, researcher, and amateur herbalist and historian currently working in foundation fundraising at MASS MoCA (where I'll still be part-time come fall). I'm active in community organizing work around anti-imperialism, prison abolition, and immigrant justice, love to cook, and am generally pretty low-key and chill as a roommate (clean but not neurotic, responsible and well-versed at working out housekeeping needs with others). I'll be splitting my time between the Hudson Valley and Western Mass (Northampton/Florence), where my partner and I live -- I'll be gone most Fridays-Sundays, and busy with classes and work Monday-Thursday. I have a friendly, pretty chill, very well-behaved german shepherd-husky-lots of other things mix who will be visiting occasionally as well (not super often, but you'd need to be baseline ok with dogs).
Pro-rated first month's rent and security deposit required
Would be signing onto an existing lease, but also open to subletting
Landlord information and references available upon request
Non-destructive, not-barky pets allowed on a case by case basis; if you have a pet and want to inquire, let's chat more!
