I'm looking for a new roommate to share my amazing 2 bed, 1 bath in Silverlake!
Available July 1st but flexible to start as late as July 15th.
Rent is $1139/mo plus utilities (wifi, water/power, and gas - cheaper in the winter and higher in the summer)
The room will be unfurnished. It has a large closet and windows, and the dimensions are about 14x9.
We'll share the living spaces: living room with TV and two couches; dining area; fully equipped kitchen; and bathroom with skylight (and we each have our own sink!). The main living area has large windows and an AC.
We also share the space with my cat, Brenda, who is super friendly and sleepy - she likes to hang out in my room, on the couch, or on her cat tree by the window.
The unit is in a split-level building with steps and no elevator. Neighbors include some new tenants and some who've lived in the area for decades. The building manager lives on site and is extremely kind and responsive. The building has coin laundry ($2.50 wash/$1.50 dry) and we share a gated parking space. Street parking is easily available. There is a gate to enter the building via key (no code/keypad).
My favorite thing about this apartment is the location. We're on a quiet street right next to Bellevue Park, walkable down to Sunset as well as to Virgil Village.
I'm looking for someone who is communicative and respectful above all! I love living here and would love to find a roommate who wants to make the space a home, too.
I'm Becca, she/her, 31 y/o. I'm a PhD student/instructor in History at UCLA, going into my 7th year. I've lived in the apartment for 4+ years and love it.
As a roommate, I try to be as communicative and respectful as possible, and am looking for somebody who is the same! I use the kitchen and living room a fair bit for cooking, watching TV, etc. and keep the common spaces clean. I'll have a couple friends over for dinner or hanging out occasionally, but tend to keep the party outside. I want you to feel comfortable to do the same and use the space as your own!
I am the primary renter of the unit and you will technically be a subletter on a month to month lease requiring 30 days notice for termination. To draw up the sublease, the management company requires you to submit a short application, with ID and 1 month paystub. There is a security deposit of $1050. You'll pay me directly for rent and utilities (which I pay directly to the management company and utility companies respectively).
Since I already have Brenda, I am open to another cat joining our home. The building does allow small dogs, but we would need to see if they get along first.
