We are (sadly) offering to sublet one of the bedrooms in our beautiful home in Sunnyside. Will, one of the roommates here, is having an unexpected immigration issue and cannot return to the U.S. in the short term.

The apartment is beautiful and bright with windows in every single room (including a skylight in bathroom!) It is technically a 3-bedroom apartment, but only two of us were living here, so there is an extra room we use as an office or for the occasional guest (ideal if you work remotely). The place is fully and tastefully(we hope!) furnished - both of us work as architects and have really made this place home in the past 1.5 years of living here. It is super conveniently located 1 block from the 7 train (40st stop, 15 minutes or so to grand central) and near many grocery stores, delis, and coffee shops, but on a street that is not too rowdy. The bedrooms are extra quiet and we barely hear anything at night time.

We are looking for one roommate to take will’s room as a long-term(expecting at least 6-12months) subletter. We will welcome any gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. For you to get a sense of the vibe of the place: we are both Chinese architects that love film, architecture, cycling. We eat many meals together at home and love exploring Queens’ foods together - all we ask is that you are tidy and respectful.

The room is move-in ready (we have a bed, comforters, sheets, and towels!). The rent is $1650 + ~$100 of monthly utilities (fluctuates based on season). Ideally, you'd move in ASAP but partial monthly rent can be pro-rated. Please note that we will need to add you to the lease and notify the property manager as required so be prepared to have some basic information including identification and proof of income.

The apartment is fully finished - there may be some temporary belonging transitions as will was unexpectedly refused a visa renewal and is in the process of moving his things to storage remotely with the help of friends. We hope you understand.
