If you’re looking to land in a beautiful NYC oasis for a few months (or longer), perhaps this posting is for you. We have an open room on our second floor June-August 2025, and possibly through December or longer.
The open bedroom is fully furnished. It has large windows overlooking our backyard, and has primary use of the bathroom with a bathtub just outside the room. Central air and heat.
You would share the first-floor kitchen, dining, and living room areas, and washer & dryer with two or three incredible housemates.
The house is in an amazing location - a 1-minute walk to the G train on the corner, or a 10-15 minute walk to the AC train.
This home is a really special place - subletters who have stayed here in years past have been incredible people who enjoy a combination of communal living and having their own quiet space.
Details:
- Address: Lafayette Ave, closest cross streets are Lafayette & Bedford, in Bed Stuy right on the Clinton Hill border.
- Includes: Bedroom with a queen bed, a small desk, a walk-in closet, and a large window with a view of the backyard. Also includes primary use of the hallway bathroom. Shared use of kitchen, living room, and backyard.
- Dates: Available from June 2025 (with potential to extend through December or longer)
- Housemates: You would be living with 2-3 amazing housemates. For us, home is a space for wellness and rejuvenation, dancing, stretching, fun workouts, tea on the back stoop, hosting friends, and gatherings in the backyard. We like to find a good balance between quiet/calm and celebratory social time.
- Cost: $2250/mo + monthly utilities (usually $60-$70) + one-time cleaning fee ($100).
We are very fortunate to have a house of kind, thoughtful, considerate, fun, creative housemates. You would be living with two of the housemates full-time, and one person would be staying over in our guest room very occasionally.
Everyone in the house travels frequently, so the house is often occupied with only one or two people at a time.
We're looking for someone with shared values who enjoys communal living. Someone respectful of shared spaces, cool with keeping a vegetarian/pescatarian kitchen, and who would be a positive, friendly addition to the home.
I currently live in the house and need to sublet my room for the next 3-6 months, so that I can spend some time in California taking care of a sick family member.
Documents requested for extended stays will include proof of income and basic referral. Flexible pending conversations on both.
