Be my roommate! This is technically a 3 bedroom, but one of the bedrooms is really small, more like an office. Except I have it set up as a shared living room/guestroom.
This is a recently renovated hardwood-floor apartment in an 8-unit apartment building in Bushwick, 5 minutes away from the Dekalb L station and the Myrtle Wyckoff L/M stations. It's a 4th floor walkup. It's pretty spacious by NYC standards. Your room has pretty good light and faces away from the street, so it's quiet. There's a chill neighborhood bar on the first floor of the building (we're on the 4th), but the sound really doesn't carry, I barely notice them.
We have a good size kitchen/dining room/shared space
The building is owned by a competent management company and we have a good, responsive, super. We've never had any significant problems with the building and have had no pests.
I've only been here for a few months and am still getting the place together, so forgive the lack of wall art in the photos!
He/him. I'm a 35 year old filmmaker whose day job is at a Taiwanese food company in Brooklyn.
I'm definitely not a homebody; I'm out and about most of the time. I don't have friends over very frequently, and when I do it's usually for dinner, not a rager. I'm a social, extroverted person in general, but when I'm home I take on a bit more of an introverted form. Though I'm usually up for good conversation! I end up ordering takeout a fair amount, but I like cooking for friends (and roommates!), nothing too elaborate.
I like keeping things clean but I try not to be too annoying about it.
I'm gay but you don't have to be!
Deposit of 1 month's rent required.
Not a requirement, but I'm ideally looking for someone who'd eventually join the lease with me (it renews in 6 months so that's when you'd join the lease, hypothetically). In order to get approved for the lease, the management company requires you make 90k/year and strongly prefers salaried over freelance. But there is some wiggle room.
