Sunny, cozy unfurnished room with high ceilings and an AC unit in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, apartment in a quiet, six-unit building on the second floor. Room fits a queen sized bed as shown in photos, but would more comfortably fit a full bed or loft. There is a large common living room currently furnished with a shared closet, a small kitchen table, and desk. Lots of cabinets and shelving storage in the kitchen, and a large storage closet in the hall.

The building is very clean, well maintained, and conveniently located two blocks from the J train stop at Halsey St., and is one block from multiple bus stops. A laundromat is on the first floor of the building, there are three grocery stores in a four-block radius, and tons of great restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby.
The apartment is occupied by me. I like to maintain a respectful and friendly atmosphere: we have our own schedules, but I am always down to cook dinner together, watch a movie, or go to a show together. I am a queer woman and would prefer living with another woman or fellow LGBTQIA+ person! I consider my home a place of respite and relaxation and don’t bring the party home but will have friends over occasionally.
This is a smoke free apartment, and pets are not allowed. Single occupancy only.
The room is available now for a six-month lease, with the option to extend if the arrangement is working for everyone! I am also flexible with a shorter stay if desired.
I'm a queer woman living in NY since 2018 working in philanthropy and the design industry. Currently WFH as a freelance designer/project manager. I'm a non-smoker, quiet and clean. I have a lot of houseplants, plus a tiny garden going on the fire escape that has given me fresh herbs and peppers all summer. I love to cook, listen to records, go on bike rides with my polaroid, and sing karaoke.
Rent is $1350/month and includes all utilities (electric, heat, gas, WiFi). A one month security deposit is required with the first month’s rent. No application fee, but please provide previous address information, income details, proof of salary (4 weeks paystubs or W2 or income letter), 2 months of bank statements, and valid ID. If possible, a landlord/roommate referral would be very helpful!
