One bedroom for rent for $575 a month. It is currently available, as the subletter who was supposed to have it for all summer flaked. There is a slight possibility of keeping it after August but I wouldn’t bet on it. Rent would be prorated for the month of July.

It definitely leans on the "cozy" side but roommates have fit a full-size bed in the past, and a couple even lived in the room for a while! It currently a twin-sized cot, and two shelves for but they can be removed if you would prefer.

It has a lot of privacy as it has a separate entrance, but the building only has two apartments so we frequently leave the door to the main space open so you have ease of entering the apartment. It has a decent sized closet and there is a possibility of some shared closet space in the main living space as well.

This is a relatively speaking spacious apartment in beautiful Ridgewood. A short walk away from all amenities and in a very calm, quiet neighborhood (one of the few dead end streets in NYC!). Ridgewood: with a Variety Coffee down the street and many restaurants, cafes, bars and venues nearby, especially when you head south.

The space has tons of plants and I welcome more. I also have ample cooking supplies that you can use (crock pot, blender, rice cooker, nutribullet, baking pans, etc) but please use my stuff respectfully and if something does break I do need it to be replaced. (nutribullet has wear and tear so I get that if it craps out with time) Because my other roommate and I have plenty of our own cookware and housewares it's a good space for someone who is traveling pretty light due to storage reasons.

I love cooking with people so I am open to cooking together and share food if we can communicate well about how we are doing that. I also have a car so you are welcome to tag along on my weekly treks to Trader Joes or I can pick up items for you.

Overall it's a pretty calm space outside of my cat occasionally trying to solicit some snuggles, pets, attention, and treats. I am a very patient, flexible person very good communication skills so I definitely want to make sure you are happy in your living space.

Because the bedroom is cut off from the main space you can actually be pretty loud there and I won't hear anything. You can obviously do whatever you want out of the apartment but please don't bring the party home. (no friends where I can hear them talking loud late at night, don't play loud music, don't slam the door, etc).

The expectation is that you pay one third of the utilities each month ($50-$60) and contribute to cleaning every week. I try to do general upkeep every day (cleaning up spills, etc) and will sometimes leave my breakfast dishes in the sink if I'm running late in the morning but always wash them when I come home. I typically do a big clean every weekend (wipe down/dust the common space, vacuum, mop, clean the toilet and tub) but I'm definitely not type A and understand if you have a super slammed weekend one week.

Bonus points if you are into cooking, yoga, meditation, art, education, and love plants!

We look forward to meeting you!

About This Lister

Chill artist/elementary school art teacher, mental health and LGBTQIA+ advocate and supporter, and loving plant momma. (She/her)

As one might expect of someone who works with small children, I'm a laid back and friendly, and understand that no one is perfect. I am a former suicide hotline volunteer, meditate upon compassion and whatnot and have been teaching for years so needless to say I'm low drama and actually like have roommates and communicate well with my housemates. Please be pro-active and openly communicate any concerns you have with me and we will work together if you have any concerns.

Meg (she/her) is a very chill social work and public health graduate student at NYU and waitress. She is pretty busy during the school year so you won't see her much but she is friendly and has very good energy when she is around. She also spends a decent amount of time at her girlfriend’s place.

Rental requirements

A $575 security deposit is required to secure the room and the first (pro-rated) month will be expected when you are given the keys.

I would also like your credit rating, proof of income if possible as well as two references.

Pets Policy

Lemmy hates other cats but will consider a chill dog, but they must audition each other for me to consider that. I actually like dogs a hair more than cats but don't tell her that. ;)
