I'm looking for someone to take over the 2nd bedroom in this charming apartment off the Graham Ave L. $2100/month, all utilities included except internet. Current lease ends on July 31 but the landlord is hoping not to list the place and I'd certainly rather renew, too.
The room can comfortably fit a queen bed and other furniture, and it has a big closet and great south-facing light. It is currently being used as a living space so we would re-arrange furniture. If you have other common area furniture you want to bring, cool--we can figure it out.
The apartment has a big central living area, lots of closets, a good sized kitchen (no dishwasher), and a small office. No washer/dryer in the building but I have a portable washer that hooks up to the tub in the bathroom and does the job. There are laundromats aplenty in the neighborhood, as well.
This is a 2-unit building, with the landlord living on the bottom unit. He is genuinely fantastic and this arrangement has worked very well. This is a residential street close to Cooper Park, Cozy Royale, and plenty of other great restaurants, bars, and green spaces. 7-min walk to the L, with the B24 and B43 close by.
I'm a 33-year old guy working at an environmental non-profit. I like to cook, do yoga, ride my bike, listen to music, play board games, and go out with my friends. I'm looking for another real adult who has their life basically in order and knows how to respect a space and a roommate. I'm hoping we can coexist well in this place, keep it neat and tidy, and keep things at a normal volume at night (again, we're right above the landlord). If we can have fun together, too, even better (hopefully you have good taste in music and food). No smoking/vaping inside, no pets.
The landlord would need to see standard financial info, your proof of income, and do his own interview. As this is a lease takeover you would need to sign the lease and pay a security deposit equal to the first month's rent.
