- We also will need to pay for gas/electric/internet, TBD what this will cost because I don't live there yet, but we'd split it evenly amongst the 4 roommates

APARTMENT VIBE
- LBGTQ+ friendly (and comfortable living with people in their 30s and 40s)
- I'm hoping for a social vibe, but also a mature vibe. We don't need to be best friends or do everything together, but ideally we interact with each other, say hi to each other, eat together every now and then, hang out every now and then (whether thats board games or a movie or just chatting) etc..
- Hoping for roommates that are comfortable with (or even excited about) having guests over for an occasional dinner party, board game night, or actual bigger party (but all done at reasonable hours with awareness of the roommates and thorough cleaning), since that's the strength of this place. The nice thing about the space is, most of the social space is separated away from the bedrooms.
- Hoping for roommates who are fine with (or even better excited about) occasional out of town guests crashing at the apartment. We'll have a spare room that can be temporary guest room
- Hoping for roommates who are responsible and clean up after themselves, like to keep the common spaces clean after using them, do the dishes promptly, etc...
- Hoping for roommates who *want* to live with roommates, not just because it's cheaper, but because they enjoy sharing space with roommates

NOTE: I'm working on getting photos and i'll update them as soon as I do, but if you message me i can send you a youtube video.

About This Lister

39 cis gay male (he/him). I don't yet live in the apartment, but i've signed the lease and am looking for roommates to join me.

I spend my days going to the gym (currently learning gymnastics rings), walking around the city, listening to non fiction audio books (I love to share what I learn in them), and hanging out with friends.

I really enjoy board games (and am working on making one of my own currently), and I often play in lgbtq+ social dodgeball and bowling leagues. I like finding cheap produce and cooking vegetarian food (and am happy for you to eat some of it).

I grew up with 3 brothers and have always enjoyed having many roommates around and hanging out. I've lived in NYC for a little over 6 years but I just got back from 2 months in Mexico where I was taking Spanish classes.

Some quotes about me from former roommates about me:
- "If you’re looking for a roommate with who you can debate ideas, try new things, read books, go on random adventures, cook chili, and beat you at boardgames while still bringing a lot of joy to your life, Peter is the right roommate for you."
- "Peter is the most warm, friendly and fun roommate I’ve ever had. He’ll bring you into a life of new adventures, new board games, new recipes, and welcome you into his friend circle (and is always happy to join yours)!"

- "Peter is a YES person. Always down to try new things and get people together."
- "Something like ‘you will have fun everyday, even if youre just hanging around the house not doing much’ or ‘you’ll always have something to do and someone to do it with’"
- "Peter is a great community builder!"
- "Cleans up, keeps a light footprint, and all around good dude"

Rental requirements

1) MESSAGE ME: Send me a message sharing a little bit about yourself as a roommate and what kind of vibe you are interested in

2) VIRTUAL OR IN PERSON MEETUP: Unfortunately, I don't have access to the place yet, so we'd need to figure timing with the management company for viewing the place. But I'll send you a video of the place and we can meet up to see if we are a good fit for each other.

3) SEE THE PLACE: Then we can schedule some time to see the place.

4) APPLY FOR LANDLORD APPROVAL: If we both feel like its a good fit and want to move ahead, you'll still need to be approved by the landlord. The application process involves a credit check (costs ~$20) and showing proof of income and savings (statement of your bank account). Guarantors are also an option. If accepted you'll need a security deposit of first months rent along with first months rent.

5) MOVE IN: ~5/1
