We are looking for a long term (12-month) lease in an unfurnished Brooklyn apartment (1BR) to start July 1 or later. Our budget is $3000 per month.

To facilitate my (Mary's) commute to Columbia, we are prioritizing places near the A, C, 1, 2, or anywhere an hour (or less) away from Morningside Heights

Important to us: light, space, multiple rooms, cat-friendly
Ideal: washer/dryer, proximity to Prospect Park, upper floors or garden access

Mary plans to visit New York in early June to view apartments and (fingers crossed!) to find a lease for us to sign.

About This Lister

We are a queer couple in our early 30s relocating from Berkeley to Brooklyn with our indoor cat.

Mary (they/them) is a poet-scholar beginning a lecturer position at Columbia in the fall. They research Victorian and modernist literature, maintain a film photography practice, and enjoy strenuous hikes and cross-city walks.

Izzy (they/them) is a music therapist who works with clients of all ages. They are a virtuoso guitarist (classical and jazz), a skilled cook, and a novice at bouldering.

While in Berkeley, we've poured care into keeping our light-filled apartment a clean and beautiful place to study, play guitar, and share meals with dear friends. Over the years, we've restored a native wildflower and vegetable garden next to our apartment building.

In Brooklyn, we hope to continue sharing the small gestures that cultivate community among neighbors.
