Hi!
I currently live in Crown Heights in a 3bd apartment that I share with one roommate. She's the primary leaseholder and I've been on a long-term sublease that is coming to an end June 1.
I am looking for a 1bd apartment or significant autonomous space within a shared apartment (e.g., one floor of a duplex, a bedroom plus home office, a segment of an apartment with its own entrance). Also open to looking for a 2.5 or 3bd with a roommate if you're looking to team up. In that case, I value a living situation where we can acknowledge that sharing a space is an intimate contract — I don't necessarily need for roommates to become friends but value being able to hang out and be in thoughtful conversation around each of our needs.
Looking to pay around $2,000 (or less in a roommate share arrangement). My ideal neighborhoods for 1bds are Crown Heights, PLG, Prospect Park South/Ditmas Park (off the B/Q), and Sunset Park. Open to others but from what I've seen that's where I can afford to be if renting on my own. If renting with a roommate, open to Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, etc., perhaps closer Bushwick.
I am looking for a standard 1 year lease, and an unfurnished space. Natural light is important to me. I'm a musician (a singer-songwriter and actor) and do need to make music in my living space as part of my livelihood.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
I'm an artist (singer-songwriter, actor, and writer, primarily) and educator from the San Francisco Bay Area. I host various participatory art events under the umbrella of That's Interesting! — a studio for the playful practice of attention — and work in curriculum design and program direction for Lab/Shul, an alternative Jewish community. I love to cook, scrapbook, and read.
