I’m looking to arrange a flat swap or find a sublet in New York City, and am offering my Berlin apartment in Schillerkiez (Neukölln). I'm a software engineer working remotely, and originally from the NYC area.
My apartment is a sunny, 3 room renovated altbau, about 80 sqm, with a balcony, washer/dryer, a/c, and a well equipped modern kitchen. It's super quiet and gets wonderful natural light. Visiting friends describe it as an retreat/oasis... ideal for someone who wants a true home base rather than a temporary crash pad.
It’s located in Schillerkiez, steps from great coffee shops, restaurants, and Tempelhofer Feld. It's right off the U8 for easy transit access and bus service a few blocks away. It's also easiest to reach from BER airport, either by car or by train compared to other neighborhoods.
In NYC, I’m looking for a sublet and am flexible on neighborhood, though being close to the 4/5/6, 1/2/3, or N/Q/R would be ideal. I've lived and worked all over the city so I'm pretty familiar with most neighborhoods.
If this sounds like it could be a good fit, message me with a bit about you, your place, and timing. Cheers!
I'm a software engineer by day and am building a creative technology studio by night. I've been living in Berlin on and off almost 9 years but am originally from the NYC area (also went to college in the city). I'll be in town visiting friends and family.
