Hi Listings Project community —
We're a family of three (plus two cars, zero dogs, and zero cigarettes) relocating from Milwaukee, WI to the Hudson River Valley this summer and hoping to find a home to land in while we search for a place to buy.

Here's our situation: I'm starting a new job that requires me to be closer to NYC, and my partner Mark and I — both designers — are making the leap. I lived in Brooklyn for 20 years before Milwaukee, so coming back to the broader New York region feels like coming home.

What we're looking for:
We need at least two bedrooms — one for/with a queen or king bed, and one for our 8-year-old daughter, who is entering 3rd grade and is genuinely a delight (curious, not destructive, great with space). A washer and dryer in the home is a must. Furnished or unfurnished works for us.

Timeline:
We'd love to move in just after July 4th weekend and stay through mid-September 2026. Because we're actively looking to purchase in the area, we'd ideally love the option to continue month-to-month after that while we find our footing.
Budget: Up to $3,000/month

Location preference:
Anywhere in the Hudson River Valley with a good elementary school district. We're flexible on exact town and excited to discover the right fit.

About us:
Mark and I are both experienced homeowners and former landlords. We know how to take care of a home, a yard, a garden bed, whatever needs tending. We're quiet, responsible people: we don't smoke, we barely drink, and we're the kind of tenants who will leave a place better than we found it.
