August 10, 2025 - August 9, 2026

Neighborhood

Crown Heights North, New York City

Size

1,100 sq. ft.

I’m looking for someone to join my lease in a 2-bed, 2-bath duplex apartment in Crown Heights, with an option for an additional bonus room that can be used as a studio, office, or flex space. Move-in is available as early as August 1, with flexibility through the first week of September.

The apartment occupies the top two floors of a townhouse on the "Greenest block in Brooklyn." It has stained glass windows, decorative fireplaces, hardwood floors, and other details original to the home. The first floor includes the dining room, living room, TV room, a nook I use as my home office, the kitchen (with dishwasher), and a full bathroom. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a second full bathroom, and the bonus space, which also has a stacked washer/dryer. The available bedroom (Bedroom 1 on the floor plan) will be unfurnished.

The block has a strong sense of community, with an active block association that regularly hosts events. I’m on a first-name basis with many of my neighbors, and my downstairs neighbors who own the building are wonderful — we’ve shared dinners, brunches, gifts, and I often make use of the sauna in the backyard.

Subway stops nearby include the 3 at Nostrand, the 2/5 at President St, and the 4 at Franklin Ave. We’re also close to the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Garden, Brower Park, and great bars/restaurants along Nostrand, Franklin, and a bit further on Washington and Vanderbilt.

I’ve been lucky to have phenomenal roommates in the past and have always invested time and energy into creating a home that feels good for both of us — a comfortable, welcoming space that reflects who we are. Weekdays, it’s a calm spot to unwind, and on weekends we’ll occasionally host friends for dinners, brunches, or game nights. We need not do everything together, but I do value a sense of community within the apartment, the building, and the block. It’s made living here genuinely special, and I’d love to keep that going.

About This Lister

I’m 25, queer, male, and grew up in different places around the world before coming to the US for college and eventually landing in NYC two years ago. I work in finance, and my weekdays tend to be fairly busy. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays and occasionally travel for work/leisure.

I like to keep the common areas, especially the kitchen, clean and tidy, and generally prefer the apartment to feel calm during the week. On weekends, I’m usually out and about, sometimes hosting a some friends over for dinner or drinks (probably once or twice a month) or just laying low and recharging.

In my free time you’ll probably find me running, biking, lifting at CrossFit, eating my way through the city (big foodie), checking out museums, galleries, and shows, planning my next trip, writing, taking photos, or sprawled on the couch watching TV.

I’m hoping for a roommate in a similar-ish stage of life who values being neighborly, open communication, and taking care of the space. It’d be a nice bonus if we shared a few interests too.
