I am seeking a short term (3-ish months) furnished 1 to 2 bedroom sublet up to $5500/month. My ideal apartment would have plenty of light, feel spacious, have a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer in the unit or building (elevator, even better). I'd like to be located on a quiet street within walking distance of shops/restaurants and at least 1 subway. I love plants and am happy to take care of them. I'm neat and prefer a neat space. Always love a view, too.
I'm 56 (he/him), a public high school English teacher at a school for recent immigrants to the U.S. I'm also a former journalist and communications director (Housing Works). I've lived in New York City nearly 30 years, most of them in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. I'm quiet, neat, love to cook. Love to hike, play volleyball, and I'm an obsessive tennis fan (but not player).
In fall 2024 I rented out a Cobble Hill apartment that I own, and will be returning to it Nov. 30. I have been subletting for nearly a year from a friend but that sublet ends September 1.
As a homeowner, I understand the responsibility of caring for an apartment. As a landlord I understand the importance of friendly, open communication.
