Hello!
I am looking for a short-term (2-3 months) living situation with a private furnished bedroom in San Francisco. I am open to living with 1 or 2 other people in a shared space or renting an in-law unit or studio by myself. My max budget is $2000, including utilities. Start date is flexible, but the end of May would be ideal.
Last summer, I moved back to the Bay Area, from LA, and have been living with friends in Oakland. However, I work in SF (Pacific Heights) and am not enjoying the commute. I will ultimately get my own place, but would like to move into the city ASAP until I'm ready to strike out on my own (likely 2-3 months).
I would love it if there was a decent kitchen and laundry on-site. I'm a former chef, so I cook most of my own meals. But, it's not what you think... I eat very simply and generally warm up leftovers. You may get an occasional meal out of me, but no promises ;)
I work outside the home, typical M-F 9-5 hours. I'm a house manager for a family and really love it. It's also important that I'm near public transit (24, 1, 45) and in a good walking neighborhood (grocery store, coffee shop).
I lived in SF for 20 years, then moved to LA for 9 years, and then moved back last summer. I definitely prefer the climate up here and still have a lot of friends and community all over the Bay Area.
I'm very tidy and am a bit of a minimalist. I only have items for my room, the rest of my stuff is in storage. I don't watch TV and am a pretty quiet person. I like to relax after work and am generally in bed by 10pm. I'm an introvert and need a full eight hours of sleep (minimum), waking up early is hard for me.
I'm a big reader and run a monthly book club with friends in LA. I love plants and have a few I will be bringing with me. I'm also improving my Spanish and am working with a tutor.
I like a friendly household and enjoy it when there is a spontaneous chat or shared meal, but I operate with the understanding that we're all adults with full lives.
