Hello! My name is Maya and I'm looking for long term housing (an apartment) for myself, my spouse, our toddler, and two cats.
We can scrape together up to $2300, but hoping to find a place for much less.
We don't need it to be furnished, but won't be mad if it is.
It needs to be a space for just us- no roommates, please.
We're a quiet family of three (plus two tuxedo cats). I'm a cartoonist and painter, working on graphic novels while I finish my degree, and my partner is in school for game design. Our toddler and cats are perfect angels who never do anything wrong. (We are happy to pay a pet/toddler deposit).
We are trying to get out of a toxic slumlord situation as quickly as possible. Our income is limited and our credit is in the 600s, so we're looking for a landlord/owner who is understanding of an artist's lifestyle. Happy to do light yardwork/upkeep for a small discount in rent.
Here's a NY Times article about one of my books, to prove I do make money as a cartoonist (and to brag, sorry): https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/03/books/review/childrens-books-about-9-11-muslim-discrimination.html
