The apartment building is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station (3/4 trains). It's right next to a school (a very family-friendly neighborhood), with two laundromats and plenty of grocery stores also a walkable distance. There is an elevator.

The apartment has a kitchen, bathroom, and an expansive living room that lets in a lot of light through the windows facing a (closed) courtyard. There is WiFi; additional expenses are for UTILITIES (which include gas and electricity).

The room is FURNISHED. It includes a full-sized bed, a two-seater couch, a desk setup, an air-conditioner, and has a walk-in closet. There is a shelf with a projector above the bed.

My previous roommate lived in the space with me for three years before having to move several months ago for a job opportunity in the Midwest.

I have a friendly, albeit shy, four-year-old Siamese CAT named Lu. I keep his food and water out in the living, and his litter box beside the trash bin in the kitchen. He doesn't make lots of noise, and usually hangs out on or under the couch and inside my room.

About This Lister

My name's Kyle Chua. I'm a creative based here in Brooklyn, grew up in Glendale, CA, and attained my arts degree in Boston. I work in hospitality (will be out from 4PM to around midnight), six days a week. I prefer to keep the space quiet-ish and serene, with social gatherings organized out and about in the city, though I do like an occasional friends get-together in the apartment.

Rental requirements

Open to either short-term (3 to 6 months) or long-term (6+ months) subleasing; the apartment lease is under my name, effective for two years (from Sept. 2025 to Sept. 2027).

Due before move-in will be the month's rent, plus half of a month ($700) as a deposit (to cover any damages, if any, to the apartment + furnishings, etc.) which WILL BE RETURNED after the end of the sublease period.

The rent is due on the 1st of every month. Monthly utilities—split between you and I—range from $75-120 for electricity ($35-60/person) and about $20-60 for gas. Total expense of RENT + UTILITIES should be around $1600/month (slightly more in the summer because of AC use). The WiFi is provided; as well as the heating.
