This property is at the top of a hill nestled in the woods, looking out onto the Catskills.
The loft is above the separate garage and the converted wood shop is the kitchenette/bathroom.
The spacious loft has a queen size and a twin bed, a comfortable, somewhat fancy, sofa, shelving, and a desk.
The kitchen is equipped with a convection oven, a double hotplate, a water boiler and a small fridge. There is a full size freezer just outside the door in the garage.
The entrance to the loft and the kitchenette is through the garage.
We are two miles from the town of Ghent, which has a gas station, a post office, a diner, and The Bartlett House!
4 miles to Chatham, 9 miles to Hudson, 3 miles to Hawthorne Valley where the school and farmstore are located.
The MacHaydn Theater and PS21 are both in Chatham.
Great Barrington is 40 minutes away, as are Tanglewood, and Pittsfield.

I am a NYC transplant since Covid, but I've been working and enjoying weekends upstate since the late eighties. I still spend part of most weeks in the city.
I am a theater professional -- singer, actor, director, producer, writer. Sometimes I do productions and sometimes I am busy doing a whole lot of other things.
I love having people over, dinner, sunsets, drawing classes, improv rehearsals, but mostly it's very quiet here. You can hardly hear a sound besides the birds and occasional coyote pack.
Nothing rowdy, unless an equinox bonfire inspires singing!
I have had tenants in the garage since it was habitable, and the best ones are neighborly, and have a feeling and a need for community.
I live in the stone house next to the garage.
